电影讲述的是在农村生活的青年诗人不听父亲的劝说毅然决定去牛市卖掉家里的牛。可是牛市的价格大跌，他决定带着牛前往各地想卖个好价钱。旅行途中他接到朋友妻子的电话，得知朋友去世的消息，赶往葬礼现场。想起曾经三人共度的年轻快乐时光，他答应要照顾朋友的妻子。于是两个人相伴与牛开始全国旅行……。I am Sergei Parajanov! shot a few months after Parajanov's death.
